Introducing IQL
Insurance Qualification Lens (IQL) is a smart tech solution, part of Zendrive’s Mobility Risk Intelligence (MRI) platform. IQL enables Advertisers (for example, companies selling insurance) to offer personalized quotes to safe drivers based on their actual driving behavior. Advertisers can target millions of consumers through Zendrive’s mobile application partners (also called publishers) with embedded digital test drive experiences. Our aim is to ensure a quick and simple IQL integration experience (for both iOS and Android) for our publisher partners.
Our in-depth Integration Guide offers feature descriptions, UX designs, code snippets, and links to implementation references and application UX, to help simplify the integration process.
IQL Publisher Integration Architecture

IQL - Key Role Players
The following are the key players in the IQL platform:
App Publishers: The app publisher displays product advertisements on some of the most widely-used apps in the world. Through IQL, the app publisher can target the most qualified leads for auto insurance with their advertisements. The publisher stands to gain high-margin revenue, while offering added value to their app network.
Advertisers: Advertisers (for example, companies selling insurance), need more qualified leads for their business. By identifying the least risk-averse drivers, IQL enables Advertisers to convert more leads at lower costs.
Advertisers can now offer their prospects a digital test drive experience at the point of sale, during which time the embedded IQL collects data on their driving behavior. Advertisers can use this data to identify the best drivers and offer them competitive, fair and accurately priced policies.
IQL helps Advertisers to build a robust lead generation engine that:
Identifies the most qualified leads.
Improves overall customer lifecycle experiences by keeping them informed, engaged and rewarded.
Drivers: People who sign up for a digital test drive stand to gain from discounted and fair-priced auto policies, based on their driving behavior.
Zendrive: Zendrive's SDK is the engine behind the embedded IQL. Zendrive's servers analyze the data that IQL collects, and scores the drives based on various risky driving factors. The SDK then publishes these insights on the Zendrive Dashboard for the Advertiser's benefit.
How IQL Works
Here's how IQL works, step-by-step:
Advertiser Becomes IQL Member: Advertiser obtains access to Zendrive's vast publisher network, through which they can provide personalized embedded experiences within several consumer apps.
Prospects Sign Up For Digital Test Drive: Embedded in-app advertisements direct prospects to sign up for a digital test drive experience.
IQL Assigns Risk Scores: IQL analyzes and scores driving behavior for each trip, based on the following data points:
Drive time
Distance driven
Driving speed
Risky driving events (hard brake, rapid acceleration, phone usage, and so on.)
Hard braking
Distracted driving
These data points, when gathered and calibrated, and converted into a driver-risk score based on the advertiser's specific requirements, in turn, evaluate and measure the driver’s behavior.
IQL Qualifies Prospects Using Overall Risk Score: IQL assigns an overall risk score to prospects after accumulating 15-45 days' worth of driving data. IQL uses this score to qualify or disqualify the prospect for a discounted offer, based on their degree of driving risk. Qualified prospects get a personalized quote through which they can save 10-40% on insurance costs.
